"Where guards watched the Aegean Sea for pirates centuries ago and on the ancient footpath connecting Fira and Oia sits the San Nicholas Cave House.  



Originally, the San Nicholas was a private home after the Venetian era when the Fragomahalas (Catholic people) built Orthodox and Catholic churches in the area. On the eve of church services, the Villa was filled with congregants dancing, singing and enjoying local Santorinian cuisine.



This extraordinary home has been restored to welcome new guests with effortless elegance and magnificent views. Years of meticulous research were spent to preserve the structure’s authenticity.  Skilled local craftsmen recreated its traditional Santorinian architectural style, elements of the cave were incorporated into the design, and eco-friendly materials were used throughout.



In addition to being a luxurious holiday space, the San Nicholas is an ideal location to entertain. Two private terraces provide an intimate venue for ceremonies and a seated dinner for up to 30 guests. After dining, everyone can continue celebrating as the Fragomahalas did; the famous bars and restaurants of Fira are a 15-minute walk away, with Imerovigli and Firostefani a mere 8-minute stroll away.



San Nicholas Cave House Details:



Built on two levels, each of which has a balcony that extends its entirety overlooking the Caldera, the Villa’s three bedrooms and four bathrooms can accommodate a total of six people.  



Comfort:



Though it maintains its traditional Santorinian façade, the Villa has been completely updated with central air conditioning, flat screen TV, wireless internet, and a fully-wired iPod music system.



During your time at the San Nicholas Cave House, fresh linens will be supplied and the Villa will be cleaned daily. Everything has been thought of and provided for, including such niceties as an iron, ironing board and hair dryer.



Bedrooms:



● Master:  Located on the lower level within the cave is the Villa’s large, sumptuous master suite.  Smooth walls and soft lighting welcome you while a spacious open wardrobe and well-appointed bathroom offer a soothing spa experience.

● Guest room 1: Connected to both the master bedroom and open kitchen via privacy doors on the lower level is the Villa’s most compact bedroom. The large double sofa bed and separate bathroom add versatility to a space that can be converted into an intimate sitting room.

● Guest room 2: From its place on the upper level, the Villa’s third bedroom offers large windows facing the Caldera, a bathroom, and entry to the terrace where guests can lounge and soak up the serenity and sun.  



Kitchen:



The Villa’s roomy, light-filled kitchen is fully equipped to entertain. Everything is provided, from appliances including an oven, refrigerator, freezer, and toaster to cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils.  Outdoor cooking is just steps away at the terrace’s traditional Santorinian outdoor oven (equipped upon request).



Living Space:



On the lower level adjacent to the kitchen and Master suite is the Villa’s generous living room.   Furnished with a fireplace, table, chairs and large sofa, the area is a natural gathering place for you and your guests.



Terraces:



Enjoy the Villa’s exclusive, sweeping views with your coffee from its outdoor dining tables or the unforgettable sunsets with a cocktail while relaxing on sun loungers.



As an added consideration for your privacy, an external bathroom on the Villa’s lower terrace offers an alternative for event guests.





Events:



Between its spectacular scenery, gracious living spaces and verandas, the Villa is ideal for entertaining. Your wedding or dinner reception can be arranged with all food, drink and equipment provided.



With its traditional wood fire Santorinian oven, the Villa’s lower terrace is ideal for a rehearsal dinner barbeque. While your guests marvel at the changing face of the sky, sea and Caldera during one of our Santorinian sunsets, a professional griller can prepare a variety of delectable foods.



All celebrations must conclude at 23:30 due to the Villa’s proximity to area hotels.



Particulars:



● Smoking is not permitted within the San Nicholas Cave House.

● Due to its unique cliff location, the Villa is not wheelchair accessible.
